Keysight technologies successfully completed the verification of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X16 LTE modem, to make sure it comply with its specs’ including data transfer rate of 1Gbps. The project  was conducted using Keysight’s E75151A UXM wireless test set. The process was completed after a joint project during which both companies preformed meticulous tests of three key components: Component Carrier Aggregation (3CC), 4×4 downlink MIMO and 256QAM modulation.

“The path to Gigabit class LTE speeds on a mobile device is the next step in the evolution of LTE, and thanks to the work between Qualcomm Technologies and Keysight, we are making that a reality today,” said Francesco Grilli, senior director, product management, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. “We look forward to continuing work with Keysight to drive progress and innovation in mobile technologies.” Satish Dhanasekaran, GM of Keysight’s Wireless Devices and Operator Segment, said: “Keysight is committed to working with today’s wireless leaders to bring cutting-edge test capabilities like Gigabit Class LTE data to market faster.”

The UXM Test set supports five component carrier (5CC) data throughput and 1.6Gbps data rates via 4CC carrier aggregation and 4×4 downlink MIMO. Along with increased data throughput rates, the UXM further enhances device performance verification with support for 8×2 and 8×4 downlink MIMO, up to four component carriers in a single test set (in two bands), and an integrated iPerf network throughput tool.2

ETS-Lindgren has integrated the Keysight UXM wireless test set into their leading antenna measurement systems family of OTA test solutions for device characterization and certification. ETS-Lindgren’s measurement software, EMQuest, now includes full automation of the UXM, making set-up and operation simple and repeatable. Keysight is the only test equipment vendor that can supply all of the instrumentation required for both SISO and MIMO OTA, providing a simplified supply chain and support service to customers.
