Masach Technologies new line of drawn EMI/RFI shields might seem ordinary. After all, ready made solutions are not a strange concept for the electronics industry – one of the most standardized industries in the world. Nevertheless, the new line of drawn shields is actually a bold attempt to standardize a “wild territory” in the electronics industry.

“In our field, the industry isn’t accustomed to standard products,” explains Masach’s founder and owner Oizer Zelwer to Techtime News. “It is customary to design a specialized product for each development project.”

A new business model

Masach’s new strategy is based on technological foundations developed by Zelwer over the past 20 years. “We started producing our own dies, specializing in custom made dies. These are still required for the mass production of shielding boxes. Over the years we have accumulated an extensive library of dies. We realized that this collection constitutes a database of standard solutions for almost every industry need.” This realization led Zelwer to come up with his idea for off the shelf standard drawn shields, which is in fact a new business model.

Drawn EMI/RFI sheilds can be used by engineers and circuit developers in early development stages. The products are prefabricated and available for sale on the Internet, and can thus be shipped immediately. Masach’s goal is to enable the fast integration of its drawn components into circuits. It even supply the products on SMT trays – ready for the pick and place machinery.

Zelwer believes that by reducing time spans and costs, his idea will gain traction among customers.  The company sells its products on the internet as well as through large scale distributors such as RS Components, and is currently looking for private distributors in the American market.
