Eroupean PCB manufacturer Elco Group integrated Israeli Orbotech’s Nuvogo 1000XL PCB into its production facility near to Rome. Elco has production facilities in the Netherlands and China in addition to those in Italy. The company is active in the HDI PCB segment as well as in the field of XL PCB’s. The integration of the Orbotech system is part of the digitization process undertaken by Elco’s imaging division, stemming from its decision to increase production volumes and efficiency.

The Nuvogo 1000XL is a digital imaging system and the latest product in Orbotech’s Nuvogo line. The digital imaging system provides flexibility on a wide range of materials and applications, using the company’s large scan optics technology as well as orbotech’s trademarked direct imaging solutions technology, sparing the need to cover PCB’s with masks and exposing them to light. In orbotech’s technology – light is projected only to areas that are intended to be exposed to light. The system provides full control over all the parameters of the exposed area. The technology is capable of imaging on almost every dry-film and resist type.

The Elco Group chose the Nuvogo 1000XL in order to increase production capacities. The 1000XL is a large device with a double table-based system enabling high volume capabilities as well as high quality. Elco Group is a long-time Orbotech partner with multiple Orbotech solutions already implemented in their production facilities,” said Arik Gordon, Corporate Vice President and President of Orbotech’s PCB Division. “We are certain that the innovative technology in the Nuvogo 1000XL will help the Elco Group to increase its production capacity, lower its total cost of ownership, reduce scrap and maintain their competitive edge in the large format (XL) panel market.”
