Rehovot, Israel based Nova Measuring Instruments, a leading developer of measuring instruments for the semiconductor industry reports a surge in order for its Optical CD. In fact, Q2 2016 orders hit a $45 million record. The company’s stock in the TLV stock exchange surged by 4% following Nova’s announcement.

The orders cover all of Nova’s comprehensive Optical CD products, including integrated and stand-alone platforms, as well as modeling and software solutions. The orders were received from several Foundry and Memory customers globally. Most of the orders are scheduled to be delivered during the first half of 2016.

“The record level of bookings in the second quarter have improved our backlog entering the second-half of 2016, increasing our confidence in a strong third quarter and a solid second half,” commented Eitan Oppenhaim, President and Chief Executive Officer of Nova. “These wins are evidence of our growing market position and the inroads we make into all Semiconductor front-end segments.”

Nova reported revenues of $34.1 million in Q1 2016, a 24% increase compared to Q1 2015. The company’s net profit amounted to $2.9 million, compared to $3.0 million in the same period last year.

New orders through ReVera

At the same time, Nova reported repeat orders accepted by ReVera, a company acquired by Nova this March. ReVera has received repeat orders or its standalone VeraFlex III advanced X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) metrology system by leading players in the memory field. The VeraFlex III is the third generation of the VeraFlex series of XPS systems installed in Semiconductor front end wafer fabrication facilities globally. The new generation of tools combine enhanced XPS capabilities with an optional unique XRF channel, and are designed to address the increasing challenges associated with measuring complex gate structures and ultra-thin films in the most advanced Logic and Memory nodes.

Nova has acquired California based ReVera last march for $46.5 million up front. According to Nova’s estimates, the deal will result in a $25-30 million increase in yearly revenues by next march.
