NNG, the developer of navigation software iGo acquires control of Arilou, an Israeli cyber-security firm developing security solutions for smart and connected cars. NNG will acquire control of Arilou (60% of the company’s share) for an undisclosed sum of many, estimated at a few million dollars. The acquisition agreement includes a purchase of Arilou shares from current shareholders as well as a capital injection to the company. Arilou’s regular activities will continue as before, under the same management.

Arilou was founded in 2010 by Gil Litichever and Ziv Levi. The Israeli cyber security company develops cyber security systems for smart and connected cars. Smart and connected cars are vulnerable to cyber-attacks, which can have fatal results. Smart and coonected cars are here to stay, and as the trend intensifies, so do the security threats.Research company Research and Markets estimates the cyber security industry for smart cars will grow with a CAGR of 13.2% from 2016 to 2021 to reach a market size of USD 31.8 million by 2021. Markets and research only recently named Arilou as one of the leading companies in the fledging field of cyber automotive security.

NNG was founded in 2004 by Dudi Vernik and Kobi Halperin. The company develops navigation systems for automobiles as well as other multimedia systems. NNG’s iGO navigation software features professional grade on a 3D platform. NNG’s software can operate even without a working internet connection. In 2014 NNG won the International Business Awards for being the fastest growing company is Europe. The company employs more than 1,000 – mainly in the company’s Hungary based headquarters. Early in 2015, NNG acquired American Nfusion a developer of prototypes for interfacing people and machines.

NNG president Vernik said “Following the rapid increase in company revenue and profitability, and in accordance with NNG’s strategy of expanding its fields of activity, the investment in Arilou is a natural and direct continuation of our 2014 acquisition of the US firm Nfusion, which specializes in human machine interface. The acquisition reflects NNG’s vision of providing car manufacturers and drivers with an extensive kit of tools and services for the car multimedia system.”
