Coto added DSL Components to its global channel partner network. The company announced that DSL Components and its leader David Lipener, now represents Coto Technology in the Israel market place. “Adding a local representative with more than 30 years of experience within the electronics industry allows us to enhance our service – as well as market reach – in Israel.”

Coto Technology was established in Rhode Island, USA in 1917 as a provider of coil windings. During the mid-1960’s, Coto expanded its product line by introducing the reed relay and later was the first company to introduce surface mounted reed relays. Last year Coto launched its revolutionary TMR-based (Tunneling Magneto Resistance) miniature RedRock sensors and switch series products.

Tunneling Magneto Resistance is a quantum mechanical effect which occurs when two ferromagnets are separated by a few atomic layers of insulator. The conductance of such a tunneling junction can vary dramatically depending on whether the ferromagnets are alligned in parrallel or anti-parallel. The junction, in effect, is behaving as a variable resistor. Using this principle, Coto Technology has developed its new generation of small form factor and extremely low power relays and sensors .

The small package size (SOT-23) addresses the needs of current medical applications such as portable insulin pumps, capsule endoscopes, medical wearables and more, as well as consumer smart wearables, high precision fluid level sensing, security and anti-tampering, “wake up” mode switching on a microprocessor, and more.
